This route runs through the Tagus valley on its right bank and borders the province of Toledo, without going outside the municipal boundary of Villamanrique de Tajo. There are two types of clearly differentiated countryside. On the one hand, there are thickets with willows, reeds, bulrushes, poplars and elms; on the other, there are cultivated areas, irrigated fields mainly with maize, asparagus and cereals.
Fauna: the common coot, guinea fowl, nightingale, mill sparrows, doves, bee-eaters, wood pigeons, rabbits, partridges and quails.
ITINERARY: This journey begins at the entrance gate to the Recreation Area “Las Cuevas” , on an island in the Tagus River, south of the city centre. It goes off southwest following the Tagus bank to return to the centre of the town bordering farm land.
