LOS PEDERNALES AND PEÑA FUENVELLIDA ROUTE

This route is approximately 7 kms long and runs northeast of the municipal boundary of Valdaracete. It has a variety of leafy vegetation, with olive groves, fields cultivated with crops and other autochthonous plants such as rushes. There are rabbits, hares, wild boar, partridges, pigeons, magpies, lizards, etc. It goes through parts which are exceptionally beautiful such as the Peña Quebrada and the Fuente de la Sal.
ITINERARY: You leave the town going towards the Hermitage on the M-230. When you come to the Hermitage you will leave it behind on your left. A little later there is a path on the right. Don’t take this one, or the next one about 150 metres further on to the left. Keep going straight for more than 600 metres until you come to a Y fork. There you can take either path because they join up again later, bordering the Fuente de la Sal. Where the two paths join again, the route continues crossing the M-221. After going over the abandoned railway line and after 1 km., climb up to the Pedernales and you will be on the edge of the town.
